Is Amuse Cruelty-Free?
It’s currently unclear whether or not Amuse is cruelty-free, since they haven’t provided enough information. The brand claims to be “cruelty-free,” but I couldn’t find their testing policy. I have reached out to the brand to clarify their animal-testing policies and whether they’re cruelty-free or not. As long as I haven’t heard back from the brand, they’ll be in the grey area.
Is Amuse Cruelty-Free Certified?
No, Amuse is not certified by any organizations.
Companies can be fully cruelty-free without being certified, but certifications are a good indicator of their ethical practices. The most trusted organizations that give out certifications are PETA and Leaping Bunny.
Is Amuse Owned By A Cruelty-Free Parent Company?
Amuse is owned by Shinsegae International. There’s no information on whether Shinsegae International is cruelty-free.
Many brands are owned by larger companies (we call them parent companies) like L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, or Procter & Gamble—some of which still conduct animal testing.
Although the parent company may not be cruelty-free, some brands under its umbrella follow strict no-animal-testing policies and are considered cruelty-free.

Is Amuse Sold Where Animal Testing Is Required By Law?
It is currently unclear whether Amuse is available in countries where animal testing is required by law. I reached out to the brand and am waiting for their response.
In countries like China, some cosmetics still face mandatory animal testing, especially when sold in physical stores.
China has historically required animal testing, but since 2023, brands can enter the Chinese market without funding animal testing. Amuse is 100% vegan, which means none of its products contain any animal-derived ingredients. However, since we don’t know the current animal testing status, I wouldn’t trust the brand to be vegan either.
