    How can Tatcha be cruelty free when it contains silk extract? Is the silk harvested after the moths escape? From my research, there is only one company that makes cruelty free -ish silk (Free Silk or Ahimsa).

Tatcha is cruelty-free because they don’t test their finished products or ingredients on animals, and neither do their suppliers or any third-parties. However, Tatcha is not completely vegan, meaning that some of their products contain animal-derived ingredients; in this case silk extract. Hope this helps!
